Breathing Underwater

Emma lives a seemingly perfect life. She has a loving husband, a great job in architectural design, and lives in a luxury home. One night she ends up in hospital, terrified and covered in bruises. She refuses to tell the doctors what happened exactly. She is referred to a women’s shelter. Withdrawn and apathetic at first, she opens up over time and makes friends with other women at the shelter. They differ in many things, but they have one thing in common: they have all experienced violence. Together they stand a chance of regaining themselves, their self-worth and their independence.
